Located on the Central Coast of NSW, Umina SLSC has
been involved in
volunteer life saving duties since being formed in
1960.

Umina Girls take on Premiership
Proposed consitutional changes submitted by the committee.
There will be a special meeting called for on Sunday 7th December, 3pm sharp
where the proposed changes will be discussed and voted on.
Kracka 2008
The annual Kracka Ironman event was held on Saturday 8th November at Blacksmiths Beach-Swansea/Belmont-SLSC. The event is attracting more and more with this year being the most with over 250 competitors.
Umina had 9 representatives who achieved some great results with outstanding performances.The day was overcast with small surf at 1-2ft.
U9s Ironman race consisted of 2 consecutive board races finishing with a 100m sprint.
From u10-u12s, the course consisted of a swim then board race with a sprint finish.
The course for the u13-u15s tested the competitors with a double swim leg followed by double board leg with a sprint finish.
The last event of the day was the team relays, which hopefully next year Umina will participate.
Overall it was a great day and kids had fun!

NEW SRC PARENT GROUP
We have established a schedule for the Parent SRC education based on the 2007 syllabus (still relevant for 2008/09).
Fitness must be proven before they will be eligible to commence the program. A knowledge/skills assessment will be conducted.
- 09NOV - Swim 200 metres in 5 mins - Pearl Beach Pool from 2pm
- 23NOV - Modules 1-4: Club rooms from 2pm (Normal Nipper day)
- 30NOV - Modules 5-8: Club rooms from 12.30pm (Twilight from 3.30pm)
- 07 DEC - Rescue Techniques - Practical skills : From 2pm (Normal Nipper day)
- 14DEC - SRC Assessment: Club rooms/Beach from 7am (Point Score day)
